Avant Partnership Limited (Avant) was created in October 2007 as a wholly owned trading subsidiary of the Consortium for Learning (CfL).
CfL is a charitable organisation working with and supporting the network of Work Based Learning (WBL) providers in the Humber sub region and was created by the network to provide representation and support, with the aim of raising the profile and increasing participation in work based learning, including Apprenticeships.
Contracts for delivery of learning and development between CfL and delivery Partners did not fully align to CfL’s objectives. To resolve this situation the board of directors of CfL and its membership of local WBL providers agreed to the separation of the organisation, with CfL remaining as the umbrella organisation, supporting and representing WBL and the creation of a wholly owned trading subsidiary, Avant Partnership. CfL adopted charitable objectives in October 2007 and transferred its non-charitable activity, including contract delivery and management functions, to Avant Partnership.
Avant is able to work in partnership with a range of organisations including training providers, to take forward and further develop contracts for delivery through partnership arrangements, aiming to complement the work based learning offer to people in the current and future workforce and employers.
