Train to Gain

Every business needs to be successful. To be successful businesses need to compete. To compete, businesses need to train their employees. For businesses, getting the right skills advice and choosing the best and most appropriate training is essential. Train to Gain helps you do this.

The Train to Gain Partnership funded by the Skills Funding Agency works with businesses to offer:

  • Free impartial, independent, flexible advice offered at a time and place to suit you
  • A match with any work Provider that deliver the training needs identified
  • Training that meets business needs

Research shows that 1.3 million people go to work every day without the skills they require to do their job efficiently.  Businesses who have invested in staff development not only have reaped the benefits of training but have improved staff confidence and motivation, improved retention rates and increased productivity.

The Train to Gain Partnership consists of local work based learning Delivery Partners who deliver training including Apprenticeships and E2E across the Humber sub-region.  For contact details and what provision is on offer, refer to the Matrix.

Three easy steps to great training:

Step 1: Identify the skills your business needs

A Train to Gain Skills Broker or Delivery Partners will work with you to carry out a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) on your business to assess what skills your business needs now, and what it might need in the future, based on a clear understanding of your business goals.

To access this TNA contact Avant on 01482 638577 who will arrange for a Delivery Partner to carry this out.

Step 2: Pinpoint the right training

The Skills Broker or Delivery Partner will make recommendations based on the skills analysis completed in Step 1.   The recommendations will help to:

  • Pinpoint the type of training that best suits your needs.
  • Select the right Provider to deliver this training
  • Choose how and when the training is delivered
  • Determine which qualifications your employees will benefit from

The best ways to fund your training will be explained including all the funding options available to you.

Step 3: Agree a tailored training package

A training package will be agreed with the Skills Broker and/or Deliery Partner.
